The Dream Beam project is based at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where we have access to a full suite of world-class facilities to carry out our experiments. We collaborate with leading institutions to conduct our research.
The epicenter of our research is the Advanced Light Source, a scientific user facility with 40 beamlines providing soft x-rays to about 2,000 users every year. https://als.lbl.gov/
We mostly conduct our research at ALS R&D beamline 5.3.1
The Advanced Light Source
The host group of the dream team is the ALS Photon Science Development Group, which develop instrumentation for synchrotron beamlines.

We collaborate extensively with the ALS Computing group (with many embedded dream team members), which helps us with instrument controls, machine learning and agentic AI, and provide an interface to the computing groups at other light sources.
The ALS X-ray Optics Laboratory is a world class metrology laboratory, with who we conduct metrology for x-ray optics (Fizeau interferometers, Long Trace Profiles, etc.)
